Baking and Pastry Arts Performance Assessments in WebXam

Teachers and Administrators

To prepare for the assessment, teachers need to ensure their student accounts and their assessor accounts are created and ready to be used.

  • Students: All students that will be taking the Baking and Pastry Arts Performance Assessment must:
    • Have a WebXam Secondary Student Account that is not disabled or archived
    • Be in their Baking and Pastry Arts teacher’s Secondary Student list
    • Have the 330125 Baking and Pastry Arts test assigned to them
A sample student account with the correct test added
  • Assessors: All assessors that will be assessing a Baking and Pastry Arts Performance Assessment must:
    • Have a WebXam Assessor account with Baking and Pastry Arts selected as the Assessor Type that is not disabled or archived
Even if the Assessor is the student’s teacher of record, a separate Assessor account is still required
    • Be assigned to the teacher account for the students they will be assessing. Assessors can be assigned to more than one teacher
    • Meet all qualifications specified by ODE

Creating Assessor Accounts

Assessor accounts can be created in WebXam by selecting [“Assessors” > “New”] and entering the information required. When creating a Baking and Pastry Arts assessor account, select the Assessor Type of “Baking and Pastry Arts.”

If your program includes multiple teachers and you will be using the same assessors, have your administrator create the accounts so they can assign the assessor to all teachers' accounts.

If the assessor is a teacher, they will not be able to use their teacher account to perform assessments, an assessor account must be created.

Reporting

For the school year 2021-2022, the testing report will not include performance assessment data, instead, a special “Baking and Pastry Arts” report will be available once at least one assessment has been completed by an Assessor. This printable report will include all ratings and comments and is designed to be shared with students for educational purposes.

Assessors

Assessors may perform the assessment by entering them into WebXam in real-time, or by completing a paper form and entering the assessments into WebXam later. The paper form may be downloaded here. Assessments may only be entered by the assessor, not by the teacher or anyone else to ensure the validity of the scores.

To enter an assessment:

  1. Login to WebXam using your assessor account details
  2. Select “Baking Performance Assessment” in the left-side navigation.
  3. Select the student whose assessment you are entering
  4. Complete the form either based on your real-time observations or using your paper form (if you are using the paper form, combine your comments on the individual items into the comment box for the relevant section)
  5. Once you have completed the assessment, select “Submit Assessment” to save your form. You will then be able to select another student to assess or log out.
